1. When selecting the electrode type and diameter, you should refer to the capacity of the electric furnace and the capacity of the transformer.

2. During the loading and unloading and transportation process, the graphite electrode should be handled gently and protect the thread to prevent damage. Before use, remove the foam protective cap on the spare graphite electrode hole and check that the internal thread of the electrode hole is intact.

3. The graphite electrode should be protected from moisture during transportation and storage, otherwise it must be dried before use.

4. Clean the surface of the spare graphite electrode and the internal thread of the hole with compressed air without oil and water; avoid cleaning with steel wire or metal brush.

5. Carefully screw the joint into the electrode hole of the end of the spare graphite electrode (it is not recommended to insert the joint directly into the electrode removed from the furnace). Do not hit the thread.

6. Screw the electrode spreader (a graphite spreader is recommended) into the electrode hole at the other end of the spare electrode.

7. When lifting the electrode, pad the soft material to the bottom of the spare electrode fitting end to prevent the ground from damaging the joint; use the hook to extend into the lifting ring of the spreader, and lift the lifting electrode to prevent the electrode from being loosened by the B end. Take off or collide with other fixtures.

8. Hang the spare electrode above the electrode to be connected, and then slowly drop it after aligning the electrode hole; rotate the spare electrode to rotate the screw hook together with the electrode; when the distance between the two electrode ends is 10-20mm, use compressed air again. Clean both ends of the electrode and the exposed part of the joint; when the electrode is completely lowered at the end, it should not be too strong, otherwise the thread of the electrode hole and the joint will be damaged due to the violent collision.

9. Screw the spare electrode with a torque wrench until the end faces of the two electrodes are in close contact (the correct connection between the electrode and the joint is less than 0.05 mm).

10. When loading the furnace, the bulk material should be placed in the lower part to prevent the collapsed material from breaking the electrode during melting.

11. During the refining period, the electrode should not be immersed in molten steel to increase the carbon, so as to prevent the electrode from being thinned, causing the electrode to break or the joint to fall.

12. In order to prevent the electrode connector from loosening and tripping, it is recommended to use the connector pin.
